Kenya Tourism Awards nominations open

Following the launch of the Kenya Tourism Awards last week, the outfit has now opened its nomination process inviting the public and industry stakeholders to recognise excellence and celebrate key players in the vibrant tourism sector.

The awards aim to highlight outstanding achievements in the tourism and hospitality industry, provide a platform to honour individuals, organizations and destinations that have excelled in offering exceptional services and contributing to the growth of Kenya’s tourism landscape.

This year’s awards feature a diverse range of categories designed to showcase the breadth and depth of the industry. They include the Best 5-Star Hotel in Kenya, Best Golf Resort in Kenya, Best Beach Resort in Kenya, Best Night Club in Kenya, Best Hotel Group in Kenya, Best Hospitality School in Kenya, Best Domestic Airline in Kenya, Best Outbound Tour Operator in Kenya, Best Inbound Tour Operator in Kenya, Best Tour and Travels Agency in Kenya, Best Tourism Influencer in Kenya and Best Maintained Conservancy in Kenya.

Others are; Tourism Personality of the Year, Tourism Lifetime Achievement honouree, Sports Tourism Male Personality honouree, Sports Tourism Female Personality Honouree, Best County in Kenya, Best Coastal County in Kenya, Best County Promoting Safari in Kenya and Best County Promoting Cultural Tourism in Kenya.

To nominate favourites in each category, participants are expected to visit the Kenya Tourism Awards website at www.kenyatourismawards.com.

Winners will be announced at a gala event that promises to be a night of glamour, celebration and networking with industry leaders, scheduled for next month.

Themed on “Celebrating excellence; Kenya’s Tourism Trailblazer”, the awards are emphasizing the importance of the tourism sector in Kenya’s economic growth . The underscore the sector’s role in creating jobs, preserving Kenya’s diverse cultural and natural heritage, and promoting sustainable development. During the launch, the KTA Chief Executive Officer Allan Ndekwe said this year’s awards would be determined by a panel of experts in the tourism and hospitality sectors with public input contributing 30 percent of the final results.

Speaking during the event, Serbia’s Ambassador to Kenya, Danijela Čubrilo Martić, highlighted the importance of engaging youth in initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and heritage preservation.
