Terry Ann Blessing Akoth is all set to represent Kenya at this year’s Miss Beauty of Africa International Pageant (BAIP). The event will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on February 15, 2025.
During her breakfast send-off ceremony at Finix Casino, Nairobi, on Wednesday, she expressed optimism about bringing the crown back home, following in the footsteps of Cindy Isendi, who won the crown in 2019 during the finals held in Nigeria.
“I am happy and delighted to be flying Kenya’s flag at the continental stage, and I promise to do my best and make my motherland proud,” she said.
Finix Casino Liaison Officer Cliff Mboya, while presenting the return air ticket to the beauty queen, wished Terry Ann all the best and stated that they are proud to be part of the journey.
“We are very proud to be part of BAIP as this is in line with our mission of supporting beauty, talent, and sports in our country,” said Cliff.
Terry Ann Blessing is a model and actress with a deep love for nature and art, and she enjoys playing the violin.
The KCA University student is also passionate about her project, Empowering All, which focuses on poverty alleviation and promoting equity around the world. Her vision is to create a thriving, inclusive society in Kenya, where all individuals have equal opportunities and the support they need.
Terry Ann was crowned the winner of BAIP Kenya in 2024. “This feels surreal and deeply humbling. It’s an honour to represent the beauty, strength, and resilience of African women on such an amazing platform,” she said at the time.
“My goal is to celebrate and preserve our rich African culture and heritage while empowering people through my project, Empowering All. By combining these two, I aim to uplift communities and create opportunities for growth, especially for those facing poverty and inequality,” she added.
In previous years, Kenya has been topping the charts at the contest. Cindy Isendi from Kenya won the coveted title in 2019, but unfortunately, COVID-19 brought a halt in 2020.
In 2021, a Namibian model won, but Kenyan Miriam Rae became the first runner-up. In 2022, Kenya’s Messry Lungatso took home the crown, and fast forward to 2024, Kenya’s Joy Wambugu emerged in the top five.
