More than 7,000 University students and young professionals from 35 countries will compete in the 2025 Global Management Challenge (GMC).

The sixth edition, which was unveiled today, will bring together young people to test their critical thinking, teamwork, leadership, and practical business acumen in an online simulation that simulates real-world businesses in real-world market conditions.

The simulation will test participants’ ability to make decisions in the areas of strategy, marketing, production, human resources, and finance.

Speaking at the launch, GMC Kenya Founder, Asim Shah, said: “Beyond networking, the Global Management Challenge connects participants with global industry leaders through the right mix of upskilling and exposure enhancing their employability in today’s competitive job market. We welcome the partnership with MRX Media who, through their reach, both grassroots and on social media, shall put Kenya’s youth on the global map”

GMC Kenya, in collaboration with MRX Media, an impact-driven initiative that empowers youth via financial literacy, talent development, and mentoring, will target jobless youth, University students, and corporate professionals who use social media sites like Instagram and TikTok.

“Our data indicates that our young people are not idle, they are simply searching for an opportunity to shine. GMC Kenya gives them an opportunity to showcase their talents on the world stage” said MRX Director Ms Rachel Muthoni

Each GMC edition, which is designed to replicate competitive market situations, begins with a team draw in which participants are divided into teams, each of which is assigned a virtual business.

Through a series of rounds, participating teams are required to develop plans that promote sustainable growth.

GMC then reviews the decisions made and uses their in-house online simulator to assess the financial and operational performance.

Top-performing teams proceed to the national finals, with the best team representing Kenya at the international final to be held in Macau, China, in June this year.

GMC Kenya invites  University students and young professionals to take advantage of this chance to test their abilities, build their networks, and advance their careers .

With the rising unemployment, the GMC program is heralded as a stepping stone for young professionals into blue-chip companies.

Alumni of the competition have also consistently secured distinguished positions within multinational organisations illustrating the challenge’s significant role in cultivating future business leaders.

Students and young professionals can register online at www.gmckenya.com.
