Crime Scene.

Police in Isinya, Kajiado County, are searching for a man following the death of his wife, who was allegedly stabbed to death at Naserian Village on Monday night.

The wife of Chrispinus Ayeme Mukopi, 37, was reportedly stabbed several times with a kitchen knife before being struck with a blunt object on the head.

The husband is said to have disappeared into the night with their three children, leaving behind the youngest beside her mother’s naked body, lying in a pool of blood.

A neighbour alerted officers at the police station, who responded immediately. Tensions remained high within the village as angry residents and the police searched in vain for the woman’s husband.

Area Assistant Chief Hoah Leshantin told The Standard that the family had recently relocated to the area and were not well known by the residents.

“We are shocked by this particular incident. This family just moved here a few months ago and they are not even well known by the residents,” said Leshantin.

Isinya Police Commander Patrick Manyasi confirmed the incident, urging families to handle domestic disputes calmly.

“What has gone wrong with our communities? Domestic issues should not be solved by killing or harming each other. It is unacceptable,” said Manyasi.

The police chief appealed for calm in the area, stating that the police would arrest the suspect, who would then be arraigned in court.

He also confirmed that the baby left behind is currently at Isinya Police Station, awaiting placement in a children’s home.

This murder incident comes barely a week after the body of a Grade One pupil was found in a sack and placed on the roof of a Mabati house with multiple injuries in the same area.

Information about the boy, who had been missing for a week, was circulated through social media and other news outlets.

The news of the incident provoked area residents, who staged a demonstration in protest. The protesters barricaded the Nairobi-Namanga Road for hours before anti-riot police officers from the nearby Kitengela police intervened to calm the situation.
