Sigona Golf Club’s Junaid Manji extended his lead to five shots in the penultimate round of the 2025 NCBA Kenya Junior Strokeplay Championship at the Muthaiga Golf Club.

Manji had a torrid time in the first nine where he started with three straight bogeys in the first three holes.

He recovered a little to play level par in holes four and five before picking his first birdie in hole six.

A double bogey at hole eight gave him a score of 40 in the front nine.

In the back nine, he was more stable with two birdies at hole 12 and 15. His only downfall was in the last two holes at 17 and 17 where he had straight bogeys in holes he picked birdies in rounds one and two. He finished the day on four over par 71 for a total score of ten over par 223.

For the third day in a row, Krish Beiju has maintained his second position. He picked only three birdies, one in the front nine and two in the back nine in the last two holes at number 17 and 18. His score of six over par 71 pushed his overall score to 15 over par 228, five shots behind the leader.

Kevin Anyien struggled to find his mojo in round three after an impressive round two where he shot one under par 70.

The course was unforgiving to him as he started on the wrong footing with three straight bogeys. He then played level par in the rest of the holes for a score of 39 in the front nine. The back was also a challenge at the start with a double bogey and a bogey in the first two holes. Anyien picked only one birdie at hole number 17 for a score of seven over par 78 on the day.

“Today I had a slow start on both sides, I think it was more of my swing today. I wasn’t feeling it that much so it led to the slow start I had I think,” explained Anyien.

On the last round, Anyien feels he can play better and close in on the leader.

“Seven shots behind the leader….I don’t want to think about it. I just want to come tomorrow, try to pull in a score, shoot and play well, and all will be good,” he concluded.
