Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club’s Njoroge Kibugu [Sunshine Tour]

Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club’s Njoroge Kibugu has made the CUT to play in the last round of the Sunshine Tour Qualifying School final stage, at the par-71 Heron Banks Golf & River Resort, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Njoroge shot rounds of 3-under par, 68, 2-over par, 73 and 1-over par, 72 in round three to take his score after 54 holes to par, 213, placing him T41 within the CUT line, which was set at 1-over par. He will join the field of 50 who will play in the final round for a stake of the R100,000 prize fund and the chance to qualify for the Sunshine Tour in the 2025/26 season, for the top 20 finishers.

Kakamega Golf Club’s Dismas Indiza was within the CUT line through 14 holes in the third round before bogeying the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th for a round score of 3-over par, 74 and a gross score of 3-over par, 216, placing him T64.

Action at the Sunshine Tour Qualifying School final stage faced several stoppages due to the prevailing rains, with a good number of the 129 golfers having to play their rounds across two days, which has seen the tournament stretch into Saturday for the final round.

The EA Swing Q-School winner, Rwanda’s Celestin Nsanzuwera, finished T84, on a gross score of 6-over par, 219, after rounds of 75,70 and 74. Kenya Railway Golf Club’s Mike Kisia was the next best placed Kenyan at T88, finishing on a gross score of 7-over par, 220.  Other qualifiers from the EA Swing finished as follows: Jastas Madoya & Greg Snow (T95), John Lejirma (T106), Samuel Njoroge (T109) and Edwin Mudanyi (T116).

Round four action is set to tee off in the afternoon and play through tomorrow morning. After that, attention will shift to the East Africa Swing Tour events, with the calendar set to be announced in due course.
