What began as a joyous celebration for renowned Ohangla star Prince Indah quickly turned into a scene straight out of an action movie—only this time, it was very real.
The popular musician, whose real name is Evance Ochieng’, had just wrapped up his dazzling traditional wedding in Migori. Guests were leaving the venue, laughter and music still echoing in the air, when something truly unexpected happened.
As a chopper prepared to take off—carrying several high-profile personalities, including comedian and media personality Oga Obinna—a local man made a shocking decision. In a daring and dangerous move, he clung to the helicopter’s landing gear just as it lifted off.
The chopper ascended with the man still hanging on, and for a few tense minutes, it was unclear what would happen. Thankfully, Obinna spotted him in time, prompting the pilot to make an emergency landing in a nearby farm. Security personnel quickly intervened and safely removed the man—who, though visibly shaken, was miraculously unharmed.
Back on the ground, the man received a hero’s welcome from locals, who cheered him on as though he’d just pulled off a legendary stunt.
However, Obinna didn’t find the incident amusing. He strongly condemned the act, expressing deep concern over the potential consequences. “Had anything gone wrong, we would’ve been accused of sacrificing this man,” he said, clearly disturbed by the thought.
“Migori Komando. Sasa huyu angeumia wangesema tumemsacrifice. He was so keen to hang on. Security removed him and he came back. Luckily, he hanged on the side myself, and business man Bruno were sitted, and we saw him, pilot hakukuwa amemuona hata. We shukishad him safely kwa shamba ya wenyewe hapo mbele akarudi amebebwa kichampe,” Obinna posted on his socials.
As wild as it sounds, this isn’t the first time such a stunt has played out in Kenya. Many still remember Saleh Wanjala—better known as “Bungoma James Bond”—who made headlines in 2016 after he famously latched onto a helicopter carrying the body of businessman Jacob Juma. That incident, too, left the country both stunned and amused.
