Little Fish Swim Club and Torpedo emerged tops at the Nairobi County Swimming Association (NCSA) Inter Clubs Swimming championships held at Kiota School over the weekend.
Little Fish amassed 46 medals to top the men’s medal standings with 24 gold, 15 silver and seven bronze.
Braeburn who have been very impressive during the 2024-2025 which is nearing the end finished second with 65 medals cumulative. They bagged 23 gold, 25 silver and 17 bronze to settle for second place behind Little Fish who had one more gold.
Sailfish Swim Club was third with 13 gold, eight silver and eight bronze while Seals Swim Club (12 gold, nine silver and nine bronze) and Castle Sports and Events Ltd (eight gold, seven silver and two bronze) finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Torpedo swimmers outclassed their peers from 20 other clubs to bag 25 gold, 20 silver and 11 bronze medals to top the women’s rankings. Braeburn once again put up a spirited fight to finish second with 19 gold, six silver and 10 bronze even as Seahorses Aquatic Center completed the top three with 15 gold, 11 silver and 19 bronze medals.
Seals Swim Club won seven gold, 11 silver and five bronze to finish fourth whereas Sailfish was fifth with seven gold, 10 silver and five bronze medals.
In individual rankings, Leslie Nafula of Torpedo topped the seven years and under girls contest with 12 points. Adia Mwende of Genesis Sports Limited was second with 10 while Zuri Rwamba of Seahorses was third with seven.
Todah Ndambuki of Sailfish carried the day in the boys seven years and under with 20 points with his closest challenger Khensani K’Ombudo of Frontal Wave Swim Club garnering nine points.
Damian Ateya of Little Fish, Jingze Feng of Braeburn and Jabari Kemucie of Sailfish were tied on two points. Athena Diamantidis of Braeburn and Ethan Quilala of Little Fish led the girls and boys eight to nine years with 26 and 28 points respectively.
Zuri Kemucie of Sailfish was second on the girls’ rankings with 20 points wherea Nubia Wanjiku of Torpedo settled for third place with 14 points. Jeremy Irungu of Braeburn (19) and Marx Mugo (14) of Seahorses finished second and third.
In the 10 to 11 year’s category, Thandiwe Kamanga of Seahorses showed class accumulating 22 points ahead of teammate Melissa Alala and Frontal Wave’s Mawia Mudachi who finished second and third with 15 and 14 points.
The boys’ contest saw Charles Omondi and Jabali Mwagiru of Little Fish and Brook Ezana of Braeburn lead the rankings with 28, 14 and 11 points.
In the 16 to 24 year’s races, teammates Daniela Kirabo and Krystal Kwagala of Seals Swim club engaged in a neck-to-neck battle that saw Kirabo carry the day with 25 points with Kwagala settling for second place with 24.
