Kenyan artist JuBlak is stepping into a new creative chapter with the release of his latest album, Ja Ngoma.
Known for his lyrical depth and signature rap style, JuBlak takes a fresh turn with this project blending melodies, live instrumentation, and storytelling to showcase a fuller, more evolved version of himself as an artist.
Unlike his previous projects that leaned heavily into hard-hitting bars, the album reflects his growth as a musician.
Inspired by his journey learning to play the guitar, the album sees him incorporating melody into his raps and embracing a more musical identity.
“This time, I wanted to do more than just delivering bars, I wanted to feel the music, live in it, and let it live in me,” he shares.
One standout track, ‘Lek Chanda’, dives deep into storytelling and emotional expression. To him, music is more than entertainment. It’s a mirror of real-life experiences.
“I document what I feel and what people around me go through. That’s what makes my music real,” he says. The album balances that raw truth with vibrant energy, aiming to uplift listeners.
The overall message in the album is one of love, unity and joy which he says in as much as there are difficult times, “there’s still room to dance, connect, and celebrate life.”
With its more melodic tone and multiple collaborations, the album also shows his commercial sensibility and versatility as both a songwriter and performer.
