The national women’s U17 soccer team, Junior Starlets, are determined to overturn the 0-1 first leg deficit when they face Cameroon in the second leg, third round qualifier for the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup scheduled Friday,April 25th in Younde,Cameroon.

Head coach Mildred Cheche is hopeful her charges will muster the away atmosphere and comeback with the victory.

‘’We got more chances than Cameroon,infront of goal we did not utilize our chances so going into second leg we have to work on that’’Cheche spoke in a post match interview on Sunday.

Against Cameroon Chche entrusted Brenda Achieng, Joy Angela Valencia and Edinah Nasipwondi with the role of getting goals .They hit the post twice and couldn’t convert the one on one chances that fell their way.In Cameroon the trio will be carrying the team’s hopes.

An aggregate win for Kenya will send them to their second consecutive U17 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

‘’We have done all the corrections from the first match.we need your support.we are going to get the result ’’ captain Imbachi Halima said.

Sports Principal secretary Elijah Mwangi while hosting the team to a dinner on Tuesday night rallied the Junior Starlets to get the result expressing confidence in the squads abilities.

‘’Individually for the players they have shown resilience having reached this level, they have already achieved it.We will support them develop their talents and we have promised them that we will reward them from their result in Cameroon’’

The encounter is set to be played at Stade Olembe in Younde kicking off at 7PM local time.
