Nairobi is experiencing a rapid rise in flexible workspace solutions as businesses and freelancers seek cost-effective and adaptable office environments.

Nairobi has in the past few years seen an influx of co-working spaces, shared offices, and serviced workspaces catering to startups, remote workers, and large corporations embracing hybrid work models.

The latest entrant in the space is, flexible workspace provider International Workplace Group (IWG) which has partnered with Ndovu Cement to launch a co-working space at Purple Tower on Mombasa Road.

The new facility aims to cater to Nairobi’s growing demand for these kind of flexible office solutions.

“This new location will not only enhance the co-working landscape in Nairobi but also align with our mission to enable flexible working solutions that cater to the needs of modern businesses while promoting sustainability,” said IWG Country Manager for East Africa Peter Kibera.

The co-working space will offer high-speed internet, private offices, shared workspaces, and other professional amenities. Purple Tower, which has received Green Edge certification, incorporates sustainable design elements.

IWG’s Country Manager for East Africa, Peter Kibera, said the new location is expected to expand co-working options in the city.

Ndovu Cement CEO Kishor Varsani described the project as a response to the evolving needs of businesses in Nairobi’s commercial real estate market.

Mombasa Road has seen increased interest from businesses due to its accessibility and infrastructure. The co-working space is set to open in May, with membership options ranging from hot desks to private offices. A launch event will introduce the facility to potential clients and investors.

The market segment has been a boom as companies such as Regus, Workstyle Africa, The Kofisi, and Nairobi Garage step up their expansion in the segment.

The demand for these spaces is driven by businesses looking to reduce operational costs while maintaining access to professional work environments.

Karsan Ramji CEO, Kishor Varsani said the new space at the Green Edge-certified Purple Tower represents a pivotal moment in Nairobi’s commercial real estate market.

“We are committed to providing innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of businesses, and our collaboration with IWG will set a new standard for co-working in the region,” said Varsani.

Mombasa Road is rapidly becoming a central hub for businesses in Nairobi, attracting local and international companies.

The co-working space is set to open its doors in May with various membership plans tailored to suit different needs, from hot desks to private offices. An exclusive launch event will introduce the facility to potential clients, investors, and partners.
