Kenya Police yesterday moved to the top of the FKF Premier League standings after coming from behind to edge out KCB 2-1 in a tight match played at St. Sébastian Park in Murang’a.

The law enforcers needed a win of any sort to reignite their title push after last weekend’s setback, where they lost 1-0 to Ulinzi Stars and allowed Tusker to leapfrog them at the top.

Police now sit at the top with 52 points, a point above Tusker, who will play Mathare United today.

The bankers had the perfect start to the match after surging ahead through Patrick Otieno in the eighth minute for a 1-0 lead.

KCB however, led only for the opening 20 minutes before Clinton Kinang’a’s relentless pressure forced an own goal that saw the game tied at 1-1 until half time.

In the final half, David Simiyu completed the comeback for Police after finding the back of the net in the 62nd minute for a 2-1 win.

The defeat leaves KCB sixth with 41 points.

Elsewhere, Shabana’s impressive form continued in Machakos after two second-half goals saw them see off bottom-placed Nairobi City Stars 2-0 at Kenyatta Stadium.

Keith Imbali and Darius Msagha emerged heroes for Shabana, who closed in on the title race, sitting fourth with 46 points, six points off leaders Police.

At the same time, AFC Leopards ended their seven match winless streak when they hammered Bidco United 3-1

Raboama Koloti scored a brace before Kennedy Owino sealed the win for Ingwe, who moved to fifth with 41 points.

Other results saw Bandari edge Karionagi Sharks 2-1 and Posta Rangers defeat Murang’a Seal 3-2.

Today, defending champions Gor Mahia will hope to turn around their derailing ship when they meet Mara Sugar as Kakamega Homeboyz and Ulinzi Stars host Sofapaka and FC Talanta respectively.
