Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Daughter Charlene Ruto were among the high-profile guests who attended a grand wedding ceremony in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The event, which has since captivated the attention of many online, was a celebration of love between Captain Amanuel Workneh and Captain Mahilet Terefe.
Charlene Ruto took to her Instagram stories to share glimpses of the opulent affair, posting short videos that kept her followers updated throughout the day.
She graced the occasion in a striking red off-shoulder dress with ruffled edges, complemented by a colorful beaded Maasai-style necklace that proudly reflected East African culture.
She accessorized her outfit with a white purse featuring a silver chain and silver heels, adding a touch of elegance to her vibrant look.
Former President Kenyatta also updated Kenyans on the festivities through his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
He shared photos of himself at the wedding, where he was smartly dressed in a navy blue blazer with gold buttons, a white shirt, beige trousers, and brown shoes.
One of the photos showed him in conversation with the groom’s father, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, who serves as the Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
“Former president Uhuru Kenyatta joined other honored guests in Addis Ababa this weekend to celebrate the wedding of Captain Amanuel Workneh and Captain Mahilet Terefe. Amanuel is the son of Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, the Executive Secretary of IGAD,” the caption read.
