Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua has reaffirmed the opposition’s commitment to stick together in their resolve to unseat President William Ruto in the 2027 presidential elections.

Wambua who addressed the Press in Kitui town said that the opposition leaders, including Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, former Deputy President and DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i will forge a united front and nominate one presidential candidate to face off with President Ruto on the ballot.

“If we remain united, which we are going to do, and front one candidate, that person will beat President Ruto by a wide margin. It does not matter who the candidate will be. I want to assure Kenyans, we will not be divided,” he observed.

The senator who is an ally of the Wiper leader further claimed that there are attempts by the ruling UDA to infiltrate the opposition in a bid to weaken it.

He however, said that these schemes will not work and reiterated the opposition’s agenda of rescuing the country from bad leadership.

“It is their greatest desire to see the opposition leaders go their separate ways. However we know that if we do that, it will be like giving Ruto a second term on a silver platter. It won’t happen,” he said.

The senator accused President Ruto of failing to deliver key campaign promises such as creation of jobs and lowering the cost of living, saying that Kenyans were being choked by the ballooning public debt and high taxes.

Wambua further raised concern over the president’s alleged attempts to micro manage the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, warning that such actions threaten the credibility of future elections.
