Footballer Stephane Aziz Ki has officially announced his departure from Young Africans SC (Yanga SC), the club he calls the “club of my heart.”
Aziz Ki, who joined Yanga with dreams of success, leaves not just as a player but as a beloved figure, deeply woven into the club’s history and its fans’ hearts.
In his farewell message, Aziz Ki expressed gratitude for more than just football victories Yanga, he said, gave him “purpose,” a “second home,” and even love, as he met his wife during his time with the club.
“I arrived with a dream, but I leave with a lifetime of memories,” Aziz Ki wrote.
“Together, we achieved greatness, from lifting trophies to conquering Africa, rewriting the club’s history, and making every fan proud to wear the green and yellow.”
Throughout his tenure, Aziz Ki became a symbol of Yanga’s fighting spirit. Referring to the club’s iconic motto DAIMA MBELE NYUMA MWIKO (Always Forward, Never Backward), he said those words shaped the team’s mentality, and will continue to guide him in his next chapter.
The Ivorian midfielder’s farewell was not just a thank-you note; it was a tribute.
He paid homage to key figures in the Yanga family, including Mr. GSM, Anthony Mavunde, Engineer Hersi, the coaching staff, his teammates, and, most importantly, the fans.
“You cheered me on, you believed in me, and you made me feel like one of your own,” he shared, recalling the roaring crowds at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium and beyond.

Aziz went viral when he started dating Tanzanian model Hamisa Mobeta, before splurging money on a flashy wedding, and the celebrations lasted a couple of days.
The 28-year-old forward attacking midfielder is left-footed was also the highest earning footballer in East Africa, and is likely to earn ore as he moves to Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club.
