Top seeds from East African countries have confirmed participation in the Eastern and Northern Africa Darts Championships to be hosted at Lions Hall in Nakuru on Saturday and Sunday.

The two-day-tournament, which is part of the Africa Continental Tour under the auspices of Africa Darts Group (ADG) has attracted top players from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.

More confirmations are still expected from Burundi, Ethiopia and South Sudan.

Tournament coordinator Simon Muhia said they still expect more entries from Egypt, Tunisia and Libya.

“So far, players from the East Africa Community countries have officially registered with us. What we are awaiting for are those from Northern Africa,” Muhia told reporters yesterday.

Jacaranda Sports Grill Hotel director Peter Kinyanjui called on the youth players to feature in the tournament as a way to showcase their talent and with a possibility of winning cash prizes.

“Let them come in big numbers and see for themselves chances of winning big money,” said Kinyanjui.

Top seed Millicent Wangui called on female players to horn their talents here and meet the region‘s top players.

It is the third continental tour being held in Kenya and the first in Nakuru.

Deputy coordinator Benson Mwaniki welcomed players across the continent in a competition he described as one connecting Africa.
