Milly wa Doc’s family has come under fire from some TikTok users after revealing that their funeral budget amounts to KSh 2.5 million.

In a now-viral TikTok Live, the family explained that part of the money would go toward purchasing land for Milly’s burial.

They further revealed that the land would be allocated to Brian, Milly’s firstborn son.

“When we put 2.5 million shillings kama budget, we were also looking at a small shamba pahali tutaweza for Brian and also to bury Milly. That is why io budget ilikuwa juu ivo,” a female family representative explained during the live session.

The family also stated that they created a paybill account under Brian’s name to facilitate funeral contributions.

“Today being a holiday, we were able to do several things. Tuliweza kuweka Brian, the first son of Milly kama next of kin. After that, we were supposed to go generate a paybill that reads Brian’s number so that he can receive the funds,” she said.

However, this explanation didn’t sit well with some members of the public.

A section of TikTokers began questioning the transparency of the fundraising effort, with some recalling that Milly had previously claimed to own land and several Airbnb properties.

During a viral TikTok Live hosted by popular content creator Prince Mwiti, netizens — including fellow TikToker Peter Kioi — publicly urged the family to ensure that all financial contributions go directly to Brian.

“Kwanini wasicreate account ambayo ni ya Brian pekee yake?” Kioi questioned.

He went on to criticize the family for allegedly being absent during Milly’s struggles with depression, noting that her children should be the sole beneficiaries of the public’s support.

“Milly hakuwa na family when she was alive. Who are this family wenye wamejitokeza sa ii wakati amefariki? Akilia peke yake hakuna mtu alikuwa anampa shoulder to lean on. Her daughter will stay with her dad until she is off age. Brian atabaki pekee yake na her brother Sleek is innocent. Ata mkiniblock I will still say the family wants to play games with us. Brian ndio tunafaa tumchangie pekee yake, nobody else,” Kioi stated.

The emotional discussion sparked a wave of reactions among viewers. While some backed Peter’s sentiments, others sided with the family.

One TikTok user commented, “Sleek na Brian tu, full stop.” Another added, “Peter is right, no family was ever there for Milly when she was crying on social media.”

The debate has since spilled over to Instagram, where users continue to share differing views. One user defended the family, saying the burden of loss lies with them.

“Now those criticizing the family, do you know matanga hukua ya familia? The only people who mourn seriously ni family. Again you think the crowd will look after those kids? Ni hiyo hiyo family, so just do your part as a contributor and go your way juu at the end it pinches the wearer,” the comment read.
