Comedian Nasra Yusuf has officially stepped down from her position as vice chairperson of the Digital Content Creators Association of Kenya (DCCAK), just a month after the association’s official launch.

The former Churchill Show star made the announcement through an official statement posted on her Instagram account on June 11, 2025.

“Earlier today, I officially stepped down from my role as vice chairperson of the Digital Content Creators Association of Kenya,” her statement read in part.

Nasra clarified that her resignation was not prompted by internal conflict or controversy but rather a deeply personal decision made after introspection.

“This was not an easy decision, but it was one I made after deep personal reflection. Sometimes, alignment and conviction are more important than titles or positions. I believe in serving from a place of peace, purpose, and authenticity, and right now, stepping back feels like the most honest thing to do,” she stated.

She went on to thank her supporters for standing by her throughout her brief tenure, adding that her commitment to advocating for digital creatives remains unwavering.

“I’m grateful for the support many of you showed me during my appointment. That encouragement never went unnoticed, and I carry it with me as I continue to advocate for creatives in other meaningful ways,” she concluded.

Nasra was part of the pioneering team behind the DCCAK, which was officially launched on May 13, 2025.

The association aimed to unite digital creators across Kenya, bridging the gap between established influencers and upcoming talent, especially from underserved communities.

She served alongside notable figures in the digital space including comedian Lawrence Mwangi alias Terence Creative (Secretary General), Director Trevor (Chief Executive Officer), Sammy Kioko (Deputy Secretary General), Joseph Gachina (Marketing Director), Claudia Naisabwa (Creative Director), Hezron Kipkemboi a.k.a. Ruih Fam (Communications Director), and Joan “Joanita” Waweru (Deputy Operations Director).

The association had positioned itself as a platform to empower digital creatives, champion industry issues, and shape the future of digital media in Kenya.
