Bongo Flava sensation Ibraah recently jetted into Kenya for a highly anticipated media tour and a series of performances across Nairobi, Nakuru, and Eldoret.

The budding star is not only promoting his new music but also openly addressing his past struggles and offered insights into the music industry.

Upon his arrival, Ibraah, now under the management of Oyaa Gang, wasted no time in engaging with Kenyan media.

A major talking point has been his much-publicised departure from Konde Gang, the label founded by his former boss, Harmonize.

While speaking during Connect show on Radio Maisha, he revealed that for nearly nine months, he did not receive any earnings from Konde Gang due to unresolved management issues.

In July 2022, he had expressed satisfaction with the label’s management but also indicated his willingness to depart if contractual breaches occurred.

In September 2023, Ibraah released a song titled “Hapa” after a year-long hiatus, during which he hinted at facing significant challenges in his music career.

He stated that he felt his work was not being properly compensated, which ultimately led to his decision to leave the label.

When he was officially let go from the label, he tendered and apology to his former mentor, acknowledging Harmonize’s role in kickstarting his career.

Recent reports indicate that the Tanzanian creative watchdog, BASATA, intervened to mediate his exit from Konde Gang.

“It is important for any young creative to take time before getting into any contractual agreement. That is why now I have a team that scrutinize everything I sign,” he said.
Beyond his personal and professional journey, he also shared exciting news about his music.

He futher intimated of an upcoming album and expressed his plans to shoot several music videos right here in Kenya.

In a powerful message of unity, he weighed in on the recent diplomatic tensions between Kenya and Tanzania. He stressed that both nations are more of a family and that “peace and love should always reign.”
