All eyes will be on the bottom half of the table today as the FKF Premier League season comes to an end, with the relegation battle set to take centre stage as Nairobi City Stars, Murang’a Seal and Bidco United fight to avoid being chopped.

While champions Kenya Police have already secured the title, drama is expected in the fight to avoid the drop to the National Super League (NSL).

Police will be crowned champions after their final match against second-placed Gor Mahia at Ulinzi Sports Complex.

The law enforcers beat Shabana 1-0 last weekend to seal the title with 64 points, six ahead of Gor Mahia, who can no longer catch them even with a win today.

Gor will give Police a guard of honour before kickoff in what promises to be a battle for bragging rights.

But the real tension lies at the bottom of the standings.

Bidco United, Murang’a Seal and Nairobi City Stars are all facing the threat of relegation. Bidco United sit last with 32 points and must win against Sofapaka while hoping both Murang’a Seal and City Stars lose.

Murang’a Seal and Nairobi City Stars are tied on 34 points, with Murang’a hosting Talanta and City Stars welcoming Mathare United.

A loss for either Murang’a Seal or City Stars could see them slip to 17th and be directly relegated, depending on Bidco’s result. If they finish 16th, they’ll still have a second chance through the relegation playoff against the third-placed NSL team.

Just above the danger zone, Posta Rangers (15th with 34 points) face Bandari in Mombasa, needing at least a draw to guarantee survival. A defeat, however, could pull them into the playoff zone if Murang’a and City Stars both win.

Talanta, currently 14th with 35 points, need a draw against Murang’a to stay safe. Mara Sugar and Ulinzi Stars are not fully out of danger either, sitting at 36 and 37 points, respectively.

A loss for Mara Sugar against Kariobangi Sharks or for Ulinzi away at Shabana could leave them vulnerable if teams below them win by big margins.

Kariobangi Sharks, Mathare United, and KCB are also on 37 and 41 points, relatively safe but not mathematically secure if results go against them heavily.

The battle for third place is also alive. Kakamega Homeboyz (57 points) host fourth-placed Tusker (56 points) in Mumias, with the winner likely to claim the final podium spot.

Elsewhere, AFC Leopards play KCB in Machakos, while Sofapaka host Bidco United in a high-stakes match for the visitors. Bandari, who are in eighth place, will be looking to finish strong at home against relegation-threatened Posta Rangers.

With everything to play for from the bottom up to the top four, the final matchday of the FKF Premier League promises drama, tension, and celebration across the country.
