Popular Mugithi star and police officer Samidoh Muchoki has briefly returned to Kenya amid growing speculation about his future in the police service.

Samidoh addressed swirling rumors, hinting at a possible resignation while maintaining a defiant stance.

“I have never thought of resigning, unless you want to put words in my mouth. But if the time comes, we must let things go as they should,” he said in an interview with Kururia TV.

While stopping short of confirming a resignation, Samidoh reflected on his career journey. “I have come very far with this job. The training was not easy either. But if God has decided that my time in the service is up, who am I to refute?”

Samidoh’s return to Kenya was reportedly due to an emergency, though details remain unclear. Addressing recent controversies and his rapidly growing profile, the artist appeared unfazed.

“I do not fear anyone. This country belongs to us and we cannot run away from it,” he declared.

The singer also teased an upcoming announcement, saying, “I will make a major declaration soon, and I will address that, but my stand has not changed.”

The Ndiri mutwe hitmaker, who balances his music career with police service duties, has increasingly found himself in the spotlight, not just for his performances and personal life, but for his perceived political affiliations.

Samidoh recently performed in sold-out shows across the diaspora and is expected to resume his USA tour from June 21 to July 12, with performances scheduled in Houston, Texas.

The developments come just three weeks after the National Police Service transferred the Mugithi star from Gilgil in Nakuru County to cattle rustling-prone Baringo County.

The transfer, along with a subsequent directive to arrest him for being a ‘deserter’, was widely viewed as disciplinary action sparked by the viral spread of his controversial “Wantam” performance.
