The Nakuru Golf Club, known for its excellence in golf, hosted the sixth edition of the Tee-Off with Crown Paints series, which was graced by a strong field of 168 golfers.

Duncan Kibue emerged as the overall winner, posting 41 stableford points while playing off handicap 28.

In Division One, Ross Rooney, playing off a handicap of 28, shot a round total of 38 stableford points to lead the division.

In Division Two, Joseph Munene topped the men’s category with a remarkable score of 39 stableford points, while Mubaya Beatrice Bisonga claimed the ladies’ title with 37 stableford points.

Leonard Wamalwa emerged as the winner in Division Three, achieving a total of 36 stableford points. Ann Nduati led the ladies’ section, also scoring 36 stableford points. Former NGC Chairman, Steve Kihumba, garnered 35 stableford points to win the Sponsor’s title.

Ashok Patel, a consistent winner in the Senior category, took the title with 33 stableford points. Ian Wahome bagged the Junior prize with a score of 33 stableford points.

Kulveer Singh and Phillip Gathii won the First and Second Nine prizes, scoring 22 and 21 stableford points, respectively.

Indraj Singh was awarded the Straightest Man prize, and Florence Wafula, taking home the Straightest Lady prize.

Meanwhile, home golfer Justin Kaburu was over the moon after claiming top spot beating an estimated 140 players at the par 71 Nyali golf and country club course in Mombasa.

Playing off handicap 28, Kaburu recorded a brilliant 45 countback score points to emerge the overall winner in the Kenya Association of Hotel Keepers and Caterers (KAHC) golf tournament.

“Beating such a large number of good players has not been easy and I’m over the moon following this victory. I have nothing more to tell you on how I played but it was just my day. It’s just a proud moment for me and I would like to thank all those who put this successful tournament together,” said Kaburu.

Adel Balala, playing minus 1 handicap, was the proud winner of the best gross category with a level par 71 gross and the longest drive men winner of the day.

Handicap 17 Dixon Wariunge, who was displaced out from the top spot on a countback score of 45 points, however settled for the Men winner’s prize, while handicap 45 Muzahim Taib scored 42 points to claim the runner-up spot.
