Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special
programmes CS Geoffrey Ruku has called on the political class and the clergy to
stop inciting Kenyan youths.

Speaking on Sunday, Ruku cautioned leaders against
balkanizing youths along tribal lines, insisting that there is only one nation
for all Kenyans.

“Those who are inciting the young people through tribal
groupings and balkanization, Kenya is one nation, one people and one flag,” he
said.

Ruku said that he gets worried whenever the church
leadership urges young people to protest against the leadership of the country.

“We cannot sit and look at our nation going to dogs. If our
country is destroyed, the church and all of us will have no country. I get
worried When I see a church and bishops saying let’s go there and protest, it can’t
be like that.”

The Public Service CS reiterated that the country leadership
respects the church.

He added that the Bishops, some who are his friends, have a
responsibility to ensure every issue that arises in the country is solved
harmoniously.

“We the leaders of Kenya have a lot of respect for the
church. Our Bishops, we have a responsibility to ensure everything that
happened is solved amicably. We are requesting the Bishops and Archbishops,”
Ruku said.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transform the
lives of the people of Kenya.

The cabinet secretary said President William Ruto is committed
to fulfilling all the promises he made to the people of Kenya.

This, Ruku said includes solving all the challenges affecting
the country.

“I sit at the cabinet of the republic of Kenya and I know
the commitment of the president of Kenya and if you don’t believe it. I have
been raised in church and I can only tell the bishops the truth. The president
of Kenya is committed 100% in solving the issues affecting the republic of
Kenya.”
