Kenyans on social media have called out actor Blessing Lung’aho following explosive revelations made by his ex-wife, actress Jackie Matubia, regarding their co-parenting situation.
In a candid interview on the G2G Podcast, the former Tahidi High star accused Lung’aho of being a “deadbeat dad,” expressing deep regret over their relationship and having children together.
Matubia, who also stars in Family Vacation, shared that after their separation, she made significant lifestyle changes to focus on her children, including embracing celibacy and quitting alcohol.
“I went celibate and stopped drinking. I just focused on my children and myself and my work. I would enter my house and look at my child and I’m like I would have done better, you know. I would have waited and would have done better. I would have learned from my first mistake and given my daughter a father that loves her,” Matubia said.
The Mommy Club NBO actress emphasized that she had always supported Lung’aho and that even his friends could vouch for her efforts. She recounted instances of picking him up from various locations to ensure he spent time with their daughter. However, she noted that some of his friends misinterpreted her actions.
“I tried. God knows I tried, and I know he would never stand and say I didn’t. His friends saw I used to drive to where he is, and they thought I wanted him back. Then I was like, I have done this because I wanted him to have a relationship with his child and that’s it,” she explained.
Soon after the interview aired, netizens flooded the Just in Time actor’s Instagram page, reacting to Matubia’s claims.
Lung’aho had recently shared a video from a Range Rover owners’ event, showing off a luxurious weekend that many felt clashed with the accusations being made.
Some users criticized him for appearing to prioritize flashy events over his parental duties.
Others questioned how he could enjoy such extravagance while allegedly neglecting his child.
A few called for fairness, suggesting that Lung’aho should also be given an opportunity to share his side.
One Instagram user commented,
“These challenges should strictly be posted with responsible and present dads only, thank you—very important.”
Another wrote, “That little girl will never forgive you.”
A third added, “Comment section mumesema hamtaskiza baba mtoto.”
As the online conversation continues to grow, many are waiting to see whether Lung’aho will publicly respond to Matubia’s statements.
