Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has ruled out any possibility of dialogue with President William Ruto, insisting that the only meaningful engagement Kenyans should prepare for is the 2027 general election.

Speaking to members of the Kenyan diaspora in Seattle, Washington, Gachagua dismissed any suggestion of talks with the current administration reiterating that together with People’s Liberation Party boss Martha Karua are firm in their resolve not to entertain any backroom deals with the Kenya Kwanza administration.

“If there is any talk with Ruto, I am not available, and I am sure my sister is not available. The only dialogue we need is in the ballot box in 2027. That is where we will resolve this problem once and for all,” he stated.

He dismissed ongoing calls for political negotiations as a recurring pattern that has never delivered meaningful change.

“Raila has been in every dialogue, but the problems of Kenyans never end. We want transformative leadership. It is time we persevere for two more years and solve this once,” he said.

Gachagua rejected any possibility for national dialogue, especially those initiated by Azimio leader Raila Odinga, whom he accused of being complicit in the current administration’s failures.

“Raila is totally irrelevant in the Kenyan political dispensation. Every election cycle he loses and finds his way into the government. He wants to be in government but doesn’t want responsibility,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua’s hardline stance aligns with a growing section of opposition voices who believe that the country’s salvation lies not in political boardroom deals, but in a decisive electoral showdown in 2027.
