Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, alongside CS Ministry of Co-operatives and MSMEs Wycliffe Oparanya, CS Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage Hanna Cheptumo and PS State Department of Cooperatives Patrick Kilemi present the award to Kenya National Police DT Sacco.

The Kenya National Police DT Sacco has been awarded the second-best performing Employer-Based DT Sacco.

The award was presented by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi at the 2025 International Co-operatives Day Celebrations held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

Other leaders present were Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSMEs Wycliffe Oparanya, Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage Hanna Cheptumo, and Principal Secretary for State Department of Cooperatives Patrick Kilemi.

Receiving the award on behalf of KNPDTS were Director Elizabeth Nyagah, General Manager ICT andBusiness Innovations Frank Tirimba, and Marketing Manager Ann Njuguna.

The Sacco said the recognition comes at a time when Kenya National Police DT SACCO has demonstrated exceptional performance across multiple fronts, including financial stability, member service delivery, and community impact initiatives.

“This award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence, outstanding member service, and the cooperative spirit that drives our success,” the SACCO leadership said in a statement.

They said the award positions Kenya National Police DT SACCO among the top-performing financial cooperatives in Kenya, reinforcing its role as a trusted financial partner for members of the National Police Service and their families.

The recognition aligns with the SACCO’s recent achievements, including GCR A- credit rating affirmation with stable outlook, successful Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives supporting 280 students in Nairobi and Multi-million shilling investments in sports infrastructure, including the state-of-the-art gymnasium at Kiganjo Police Training College.

The award ceremony, held as part of the 2025 International Co-operatives Day celebrations, highlighted the theme “Cooperatives Build a Better World”.

The SACCO attributed its success to the focus on member service delivery, financial innovation and product development, community investment and social responsibility, governance excellence and transparency and strategic partnerships for member benefit.

The SACCO said the award recognizes and reinforces Kenya National Police DT SACCO’s position as a leader in the cooperative movement and validates its strategic approach to member-centric financial services.

Kenya National Police DT SACCO is a financial cooperative serving members of the National Police Service and their families.
