A sign language interpreter has captured the internet’s attention after delivering an animated, high-energy performance during Jamaican Dancehall legend Vybz Kartel’s set at the 2025 Wireless Festival in London.

Held at Finsbury Park from July 11 to 13, the sold-out event featured top global acts including Drake, Burna Boy, Summer Walker, and PARTYNEXTDOOR.

But it was the interpreter’s expressive moves, flawless timing, and dancehall flair that stole the spotlight on the festival’s final night, when Kartel performed live for the first time in the UK since his release from prison last year.

Dressed in a black t-shirt and a long black-and-striped skirt, the interpreter impressed festival-goers with her ability to match Kartel’s provocative lyrics with equally vibrant signing.

A viral video showed her expertly translating the “Come and Sit Down” hitmaker’s lyrics into sign language, complete with bold gestures and undeniable vibes, earning her widespread praise across social media.

What truly wowed fans was her confident interpretation of the song’s erotic lyrics, delivered with such clarity that some viewers joked they didn’t even need to know sign language to understand.

“Can someone who knows ‘Sign Language’ confirm? Because I just understood everything and it seems right to me,” wrote one amused Instagram user.

Another impressed viewer noted her cultural fluency: “What’s most impressive is she’s signing in Jamaican patwah (patois)! Love it.”

Jamaican Patois, also known as Jamaican Creole, is a rich linguistic blend influenced by English, French, Spanish, and West African languages, and is commonly used across Jamaican communities worldwide.

Social media users hailed her as the “real MVP of the night,” with many applauding how she turned a technical role into an entertaining spectacle.

“I’m crying. She did her job so well because I understood everything she signed,” a user commented.

The performance was part of a powerhouse festival lineup headlined by Canadian superstar Drake, who performed all three nights.

Kartel’s electrifying return to the stage, enhanced by the sign language interpreter’s unexpected star turn, made for a memorable finale at one of Europe’s biggest music festivals.
