DJ Dibul has taken to social media to address growing criticism over how he uses the money given to him by fans during his club gigs.

In a candid video, the popular entertainer shared how the donations, often referred to as sadaka, go directly to supporting needy families and vulnerable groups living in urban areas.

Filming from his car, DJ Dibul explained his evening plans before heading home.

“Nimekuja hapa town, masaa ya jioni before niingie nyumbani, nataka kupatia wasee kathaa super—wale wanakaa town, pia wamama wenye wako na watoto—nataka kuwanunulia diapers courtesy ya zile sadaka washirika wangu wananiletea,” he said, referring to the charitable mission funded by his fans’ contributions.

He went on to express deep gratitude to his supporters who show up for his gigs and willingly offer their donations.

“Thank you so much wale wasee wanakuja gigs zangu zote. I appreciate manze. Thank you for the sadaka—sinafanya kazi mingi sanaa,” he added.

Addressing online backlash, DJ Dibul clarified that he never asks for the money directly, nor does he coerce anyone.

“Sijui kwa nini wale wasee wenye hawatoi wanaongelelea hii story. Ati ‘hee unatake advantage,’ hapana. Mafans wangu wanakuja gigs zangu wenyewe na wanajitolea. Imagine hata siwambiangi watoe,” he explained.

According to him, fans even initiate the giving. “Inafikanga point yenye wananiambia ‘hee ni time ya sadaka, tunataka ngoma ya sadaka.’ Unaelewa? So nyinyi wenye munaongea ati naforce watu kuutoa pesa, hapana,” he said, adding that he intended to use the funds to buy bread, milk, and diapers for struggling mothers with young children.

The video then shows DJ Dibul counting bundles of cash, before heading to a supermarket. He’s then seen filling multiple trolleys with basic food items and baby supplies.

In the final part of the video, the DJ is shown distributing the goods to street families in Nairobi.

The touching act earned praise from fans and fellow Kenyans, many commending his generosity and transparency.

In the comments, fans voiced their support.

@amosprova wrote, “This is true gospel. Wenye wanaku-criticize hawajawai saidia hadi kale kalizard ka nyumba.”

@thee._spice added, “Ndiyo maana Mungu hawezi kusahau.”

@y.o.u.ngkay said, “Hakuna mtu husaidia na roho safi kama mlevi.”

@aureliahmwero commented, “Sadaka inatumika vile inafaa.”

The heartwarming video comes just days after DJ Dibul went viral again when DCP party leader made a surprise phone call through the DJ’s device during a club event.

In the call, the politician led a spirited Wantam chant before urging Kenyan youth to take care of the country while he is away in the United States.
