Mumbi Maina has announced her departure as the longtime manager of R&B star Otile Brown, marking the end of what she described as a rewarding chapter in her professional journey.

After what she termed “much thought and reflection,” Mumbi revealed that she has decided to step down from her role, citing the need for personal peace, professional growth, and a shift in direction.

“Working with Otile has been a journey I’ll always be proud of — full of growth, creativity, and unforgettable moments,” Mumbi wrote. “I remain deeply grateful for the trust he placed in me and for the incredible support from fans, partners, and everyone who has been part of this chapter.”

The statement, filled with grace and gratitude, reflects a mutual and respectful parting of ways rather than a fallout.

Mumbi emphasised that her decision was rooted in self-reflection and the need for both her and Otile to explore new avenues.

“There comes a time when paths naturally shift. For the sake of my peace, purpose, and professional evolution, I believe this is the right time to take a step back and allow space for new direction — both for Otile and for myself,” she added.

Mumbi also took a moment to express her well wishes for Otile as he embarks on his next creative phase, saying, “I continue to wish Otile the very best as he writes the next phase of his story.”

The news comes as a surprise to many in the entertainment industry, where Mumbi has been widely regarded as one of the key players behind Otile’s steady rise to fame. Known for her strategic mind and ability to elevate brands, Mumbi’s influence in shaping Otile’s brand identity and musical trajectory cannot be overstated.

With Otile Brown’s career continuing to thrive and Mumbi Maina poised for new ventures, this split may signal exciting transitions on both ends.

Neither party has revealed who will take over managerial duties for the singer moving forward, but eyes will certainly be watching.
