Actress Marya Okoth has officially tied the knot with her new beau, Lawyer Jack Okula, in a dazzling traditional wedding ceremony in Ugenya, Siaya County.

The vibrant affair, known as a Nyombo, was held on a few months ago, followed by a second ceremony over the weekend both deeply rooted in tradition and heritage.

The couple kept the celebrations largely under wraps until images and videos flooded social platforms, sparking waves of reactions from Kenyans online.

What made the event create a buzz around grapevine circles is that Marya widely known for her breakout role as Nurse Toto had kept her relationship with Okula entirely private, barely a year after her high-profile separation from comedian YY.

The actress turned heads in a stunning leopard-print gown, topped with an elaborate feathered headpiece, embodying both regal beauty and cultural pride.

Her groom, Okula, opted for a sleek light beige traditional ensemble, complementing Marya’s outfit perfectly as the two embraced their roots in full style.

In a series of additional videos shared by friends and family, it became evident that the couple also exchanged vows in what appeared to be a Seventh-day Adventist church ceremony.

Marya wore a modest yet elegant brown embellished dress, while Okula kept things coordinated in a matching brown Kaunda suit.

Hymns echoed in the background as guests joined in spiritual celebration, confirming a religious component to their union.

Among the guests was family friend David Ochola, who posted clips and heartfelt congratulations on Facebook. “Sigomre- Ugunja, Siaya County. We celebrate you my brother Okula Jack… Love wins. Both events of 31st May and 3rd August were top notch. Full support system from us to the end.”

While many fans flooded social media with congratulatory messages, others could not help but bring up Marya’s past with YY. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Congratulations to them. Everyone deserves a second chance and I’m so happy for Marya and Jack.”

Another commenter chimed in with a cryptic yet poetic message: “Congratulations Jack wuod Suna. Koro ambe nyaka anyombi.”

Jack Okula may be new to the spotlight, but he is far from anonymous in his professional circles.

The seasoned lawyer serves as the Technical (Legal) Advisor to Prof. Julius K. Bitok, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Education’s State Department for Basic Education.

Marya’s new chapter comes nearly a year after her public breakup with comedian YY, which he confirmed on September 6, 2024. The former couple share a young daughter.

Following their split, YY briefly dated Noela Toywa, and even flaunted their relationship with helicopter dates and grand gestures. though that too fizzled out within months.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
