Kenya’s comedian Crazy Kennar and his longtime partner Natalie Asewe are celebrating the birth of their daughter, a moment that should have been pure joy, but was instead tainted by online cruelty.
The couple announced the arrival of their baby girl with heartfelt Instagram posts just hours after her birth.
One touching image showed the newborn’s tiny hands, while another captured a tender moment: Natalie resting in a hospital bed, cradling her child as Kennar stood lovingly by her side.
The caption that accompanied the post was deeply emotional: “Handpicked for earth by her brother in heaven” a nod to the son they tragically lost in December 2023.
At the time, Kennar had described their grief as overwhelming, calling this new chapter their “God of restoration.”
While thousands of fans and fellow celebrities filled the comments with joy and support including messages from Terrence Creative, Jacky Vike (Awinja), Njugush, and even American comedian Michael Blackson, not everyone chose kindness.
Influencer Jane Kyalo clapped back at the trolls, writing: “People expect Kennar’s wife to slay with makeup and everything on her delivery bed? Pregnancy comes with its special hormones. You all need to give the lady a break and spare her your opinions.”
The backlash has reignited conversations around body shaming, unrealistic beauty standards, and the pressure placed on new mothers to look “camera-ready” during one of the most physically and emotionally demanding moments of their lives.
Still, despite the noise, Kennar and Natalie are focusing on what truly matters: their growing family and continued healing. Natalie, who has openly shared the pain of losing their son, once said, “The greatest pain is carrying a child you never get to raise.”
Now, she and Kennar finally have reason to smile again.
In a lighter moment, Kennar joked in the comments, “I can’t believe I have very pretty genes,” proving that even in the face of insensitivity, the couple is choosing laughter, love, and resilience.
