American social media personalities NinaUnrated (Nina Santiago) and Patrick Blackwood were injured after an SUV crashed into the glass walls of a restaurant in Houston, Texas, while they were filming content.
In the viral video, the two creators, known for making food videos, were enjoying a meal when the SUV drove through the window, leaving them fleeing for their lives. The vehicle knocked over their table, sending shards of broken glass into the air and splintering the booth’s chair.
According to E! News, Nina fell to the floor as Blackwood nearly toppled over her while trying to escape. The reason for the crash has not yet been revealed. Both creators later updated their fans on social media about the accident and their recovery.
Photos shared by Nina showed cuts and injuries sustained from the crash.
“I’m beyond grateful to be alive after an SUV crashed through the glass wall at @cuveesculinarycreations in Houston, TX, shattering everything while @iampatrickblackwood and I recorded an eating show,” she expressed deep gratitude for surviving the ordeal.
She insisted the SUV struck them directly, adding that the experience changed her perspective on life.
“It hit us directly, me on his left, him on my right, as I bit into a delicious salmon slider. Out of nowhere, but we survived. This experience showed me who truly matters; life’s too short for grudges or anger. Let go, forgive, live in the now, and cherish those around you. This could’ve been our last meal.”
Nina concluded by thanking the universe and her late dog, Loyal, for her safety:
“Thankful to the universe and our angel pup Loyal, who passed in Nov 2024 and protected us from above.”
Her comments sparked mixed reactions online. One Instagram user wrote: “Did she really just thank the universe and a dog? Sigh! Something is truly wrong with people… it was God.”
Patrick Blackwood also shared an update, posting photos of his injuries, including one wound that required seven staples. He echoed Nina’s reflections, stating he was “grateful to see another day” and that the accident had given him a renewed sense of purpose.
