Zuchu, former Sauti Sol member Savara, and BET Award winner Eddy Kenzo from Uganda electrified the stage at the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) Finals closing ceremony on Saturday, August 30, at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.
Tanzanian star Zuchu, who is the wife of Wasafi Records boss Diamond Platnumz set the stadium on fire as she belted out her fan favourite songs to eager soccer fans ahead of the Morocco vs Madagascar final match.
Dresses in skimpy outfits revealing her smooth skin, the Sukari and Amanda singer won over fans who sang along to her hits.
During her electrifying stage performance, Zuchu rocked a long-sleeved, fitted top in a deep emerald green colour with a textured, slightly shiny fabric. The sleeves with shimmering, silver fringes at the cuffs, adding movement when she danced.
She wore a short, grass-inspired fringe skirt in beige and golden tones, designed to sway and flow dramatically with her dance movements and revealing her toned legs.
Not to be left behind, Savara, rocked a coordinated white suit, consisting of a fitted jacket and matching trousers. Both pieces heavily decorated with small, reflective bead-like accents that added sparkle and drama to his movements.
Savara’s trousers had a slightly flared cut, giving them a retro-inspired flair.
His footwear consisted of silver glitter ankle boots, which shone brightly under the stage lights, perfectly complementing the reflective detailing on the suit.
Savara accessorised his look with black sunglasses that give him a cool, confident edge, while his long dreadlocks framed his face, enhancing his stage presence. The entire look is a mix of flashy showmanship and sleek sophistication, tailored for a high-energy performance in front of a stadium crowd.
BET Award winning star also brought the roof down with his award winning songs that made fans dance along to the hit songs.
Prior to her, Zuchu had made the announcement on her social media, sharing her excitement with her fans, “I’m so thrilled to announce that I will be headlining The African Nation Champion Finals this year #CHAN2025 happening in Nairobi, Kenya.”
But while Zuchu’s slot sparked celebration, it also stirred controversy. On X (formerly Twitter), some Kenyan fans argued that the closing ceremony should have given more spotlight to local stars.
One user insisted: “Zuchu should be replaced with Tanasha Donna,” while another remarked: “Tunataka Bien buana.”
These comments reflected a section of Kenyans who feel overlooked at such a grand event hosted on home soil.
