Kenya’s hip hop scene just got extra spicy after rapper Khaligraph Jones fired back at veteran entertainer Raptcha The Scientist, who recently questioned his authenticity and even called him a “fala.”

Raptcha did not hold back, claiming “everything about Khaligraph is fake,” from his accent to his famous Kayole street story. “There is no one I ever met in Kayole that speaks like that. You can’t represent a hood if you can’t talk like people from that hood,” he said.

But Khaligraph, never one to shy away from smoke, hit back on Instagram in true OG fashion:

“Sai ukitaka ku boost career yako ama kuongeza traction kwa podcast sema tu Khaligraph… @rapchasayantist wacha leo nikupatie your breakthrough my G. Ume hustle sana, umesema ata me si mtu wa Kayole, mwere ni mwere #respecttheogs. Chains and whips freestyle dropping in a few, make sure you follow him.”

The post set off a storm online, with fellow celebs quickly jumping into the mix. While some defended Khaligraph, others couldn’t resist throwing shade at Raptcha’s acting stint on KBC’s legendary Vioja Mahakani.

Singer Nyota Ndogo didn’t mince words:

“Mimi naweza kuwapiga hawa jamaa vibaya sana.”

DJ Tha DaqChild cracked jokes:

“Last time niliona Raptcha ilikuwa ni Vioja Mahakamani.”

Hip hop head Ondu Street Lawyer reminded fans that this beef was not new, sparking Khaligraph to recall their first clash back in 2011 at Alliance Française:

“Nakumbuka 2011 Alliance Française after nimepiga show jamaa akapanda stage kuroroa ufala ati hapendi izo kizungu.”

Even rapper Femi One weighed in, noting how much bile seemed to be circulating in the industry:

“Gosh watu wako na so much bile hapa nje. Hood representative connoisseur.”

Content creator Cassy Pool went all in, mocking Raptcha’s long journey in the entertainment industry:

“Huyu nilimuwatch Vioja Mahakamani nikiwa 12 years old saa hii niko 40 years na bado anajitafuta… alijoin Kalamashaka wakamfukuza, akajaribu kuwa backup artiste wa Bamboo na Abbas wakasema hana talent.”
