She calls herself the queen of shade and now she has crowned herself a gold digger too.

Actress Minne Kariuki, popularly known for her fiery role as Mariah in Single Kiasi and her standout stint on The Real Housewives of Nairobi, is unapologetically embracing the label.

She recently dropped what might be her boldest declaration yet, “I say this openly: I’m a gold digger. Yeah, I’m digging gold – not dirt. Poverty? No thanks. We are not about to glorify that.”

The actress, who has been married for more than a decade, made it clear she has set her standards sky-high.

“Listen, I like my life a certain way. I want to drive a German machine and I will drive a German machine. Period. Full stop. There is no shame in saying I want a man who tries. I’m not basic. do I even look basic to you?” she poses.

Her remarks might start some chatter online, but still she insists her words reflect empowerment rather than materialism. To her, wanting the best and demanding better is part of self-respect.

Away from her headline-making statements, Minne is also thriving in her career.

After nearly quitting acting due to financial struggles, she is now a household name thanks to Single Kiasi.

This season, her character Mariah navigates independence after a breakup while stepping into new ventures like digital marketing. Fans can also expect her first-ever intimate on-screen scenes.

Balancing a fast-paced acting career with motherhood and running a construction business, Minne credits discipline and consistency for her success. “Without focus, you won’t last long in this industry,” she says.

And while she continues to use her platform to speak openly about her past struggles with infertility, Minne makes it clear she will not compromise on her standards whether in love, work, or life.
