Four of Kenya’s most recognizable media personalities and content creators have embarked on a cultural and tourism exchange trip to China.
The Chinese Embassy in Nairobi announced that Betty Kyallo, MC Jessy, Mulamwah, and Terence Creative will travel to the Asian nation from 15th September (today) to 23 September 2025, exploring the Hunan and Fujian provinces.
The group has been sharing photos on their socials as they start their journey with Betty Kyalo sharing a video on her socials bidding her boyfriend bye at the Jommo Kenyatta International Airport where she hooked up with Mulamwah.
The initiative, unveiled on the embassy’s official social media pages, is part of a broader effort to strengthen people-to-people ties between Kenya and China through cultural diplomacy and digital influence.
“Follow Kenyan influencers to explore beautiful China!” the embassy posted, encouraging audiences to join the virtual journey as the celebrities showcase their experiences.
The group represents a diverse cross-section of Kenya’s entertainment and media landscape:
Betty Kyallo, celebrated TV journalist and entrepreneur, has a massive following across both traditional and digital platforms.
MC Jessy, a comedian and politician, is known for his wit and strong presence in the Kenyan entertainment scene.
Mulamwah, one of the country’s fastest-rising comedians, resonates strongly with Kenya’s Gen Z and millennial audiences.
Terence Creative, a digital content powerhouse, has redefined Kenyan online comedy with his viral skits.
During the week-long tour, the influencers are expected to document Chinese culture, innovation, landscapes, and lifestyle, giving Kenyans a first-hand look at the vibrancy of modern China. From historical landmarks and ancient traditions to cutting-edge technology and urban growth, the Hunan and Fujian provinces will provide a rich backdrop for the creators’ content.
