Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson made a rare joint appearance on September 16, arriving together at the funeral of Katharine, Duchess of Kent, at Westminster Cathedral in London.

Although they divorced nearly thirty years ago, the two continue to share a bond, living on the same Royal Lodge estate in Windsor and maintaining a friendship rooted in respect and family, according to E! News.

This outing marked Andrew’s first confirmed public engagement of 2025, as well as his first high-profile public event in over a month.

Since stepping back from official duties in 2019 amid controversies surrounding his association with Jeffrey Epstein, the Duke of York has kept largely out of the spotlight.

Meanwhile, Ferguson, formally titled Sarah, Duchess of York, is remembered for having supported him consistently, through both their years together and apart.

The Duchess of Kent, who passed away recently, was a long-standing royal family member, married to Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.

The funeral drew many royals, including Andrew and Ferguson, whose entrance into the cathedral, walking side by side, was noted for its symbolism of civility and unity.

In recent years, Ferguson has spoken openly of her relationship with Andrew; how they first met when she was twelve, their deep love when young, how she dreamed of marrying him, and how their bond, though transformed by divorce, remains built on communication, compromise, and compassion.

Prince Andrew is the third child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, and the younger brother of King Charles III.

A former Royal Navy officer, he once carried out a full schedule of royal duties before retreating from public life.

Sarah Ferguson, popularly known as “Fergie,” married Andrew in 1986, a wedding watched by millions around the world.

Together, they had two daughters—Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie—before divorcing in 1996.

Despite their split, they have remained unusually close by royal standards, often appearing together at family events.
