A video has emerged online showing Omar Lali, the man implicated in the death of Keroche Breweries heiress Tecra Muigai, in a light-hearted moment with Lamu beauty queen Jeniffer Waruingi, popularly known as Waridi Kenya.
In the clip, a heavily bearded Lali can be seen lovingly chatting with Waridi as they plan for dinner, exchanging playful banter before settling on coconut fish with rice.
“Tunapika nini leo?” she asks.
“Nataka unipikie samaki. Unajua nimetoka Uhabeshi, na unajua Ethiopia it’s their new year. So, you need to welcome me back vizuri!” she replies jovially.

Laughing, she suggests, “Samaki na wali wa nazi,” to which Lali nods in agreement.
The video, which appears to be missing from Waridi’s TikTok account, has since attracted swift reactions on social media.
But in yet another past video of the duo, Lali can be heard requesting Waridi to stay over so they could “have some fun.”

“Si nakwambia ukae tule raha, wewe ni mrembo sana,” Lali says in the video.
On social media, the former Miss Lamu describes herself as a philanthropist, explorer, PR and Comms person.
Her recent posts show her extensive travel, with the most recent being the Africa Climate Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, which was also attended by President William Ruto.
“For these commitments to bring real change, they must go beyond summit halls and reach the grassroots, the farmers, fishers, youth, and women who carry the weight of climate impacts daily,” she wrote in one post accompanied by a photo of herself.
A former radio and TV personality, Waridi represented Lamu County in the Miss Tourism Kenya competition in 2016. She is the current president of Kenya Youth Organisation.
Who is Omar Lali?
Lali, a well-known figure in Lamu, became a household name after being thrust into the spotlight following the death of Tecra Muigai, the daughter of Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja.
Initially described as an accident caused by a fall down the stairs, Tecra’s death was later subjected to a lengthy inquest.
Senior Principal Magistrate Zainab Abdul, in her ruling, determined that Lali was criminally liable for Tecra’s death.
She cited postmortem findings of severe head injuries, including a fractured skull, which could not have been caused by the alleged fall.
“The postmortem revealed that Tecra suffered severe head injuries, which were determined to be the cause of her death,” the magistrate said, adding that inconsistencies in Lali’s account raised further doubts.
The magistrate ordered the Director of Public Prosecutions to pursue murder charges against Lali under Article 157 of the Constitution.
