Azziad breaks silence on alleged mortgage default with sassy response

Media personality and actress Azziad Nasenya has once again found herself at the center of controversy after claims emerged that her Kileleshwa apartment was being auctioned over an alleged mortgage default.

The Utawezana star, who has often been trailed by debt-related rumors, responded to the speculation in a viral social media video, but with a twist.

In the clip, Azziad told fans that she had received a flood of messages about the supposed auction.

Rather than address the matter directly, she joked that since people were thirsty for “tea,” she would instead show them how to make flavored tea.

“If there is one thing I do and respect is my online fans because I have been able to create this social media family for a long time. I have been seeing this evening on my posts and DMs of people asking me for ‘tea’, and guess what, we are going to make one,” she said, before launching into a mock recipe.

Her lighthearted dismissal stirred heated reactions online. Some Kenyans accused her of deflecting instead of giving a straight answer, while others defended her right to privacy.

“Mahesabu za huyo dem huwa hAZZiad up,” quipped one Instagram user, while another added, “She’s trying too hard to show us she’s okay but she’s burning inside.” Others, however, urged critics to “just mind their own business.”

This is not the first time the Selina and Odd Pair actress has been linked to financial troubles.

Earlier this year, a leaked WhatsApp audio, allegedly her voice, circulated online in which she pleaded for Sh85,000 while stranded in Nigeria. Shortly after, she responded with her trademark sass:

“Anything you hear, anything you see, please believe it. Mimi, I am busy working on things. I do not have time to start clearing anything. Don’t come asking me. Jibambe!”

She has also faced accusations from fellow content creators. TikTokers Mary Musyoka and Hannah Benta once claimed she borrowed Sh300,000 from them before a fan stepped in to clear the debt.

Influencer Madollar similarly alleged she owed him Sh3.5 million, of which she supposedly paid Sh2.5 million.

Despite the mounting claims, Azziad has never directly confirmed nor denied the debts, instead choosing to brush off the allegations with sarcasm and her signature confidence.
