Akothee, has come out strongly in defense of TikTok star and media personality Azziad Nasenya, urging Kenyans to stop the relentless criticism directed at the 25-year-old.
In a fiery Facebook post, the self-styled “Madam Boss” showered Azziad with praise, calling her courageous and inspiring, while at the same time calling out those who have made a pastime of dragging her name online.
Akothee’s post was nothing short of passionate. “I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOUR COURAGE MOMMY. Let’s stop bullying Azziad, pick a struggle!” she wrote.
She applauded Azziad for daring to take out a loan and buy herself a house at an age when many are still figuring out their path. To Akothee, this was not a mistake but a show of responsibility, vision, and independence.
Her defense comes at a time when Azziad has been trending for all the wrong reasons.
Reports had emerged that her newly acquired Kileleshwa home was facing auction over an unpaid loan.
Critics were quick to question her choices, some even suggesting she was living beyond her means.
But Akothee, known for her outspoken nature, was not having any of it. She reminded Kenyans that at 25, many people are still heavily dependent on their parents or living in rentals with little to their name.
“Some of the men criticising her don’t even qualify for a motorbike loan and are still living in rental houses they can barely afford,” she said.
She also painted a picture of her own struggles at that age navigating failed relationships, raising children alone, and battling financial insecurity.
Azziad has often been trailed by debt-related rumors, but she decided to respond to the latest saga in a viral social media video, but with a twist.
In the clip, Azziad told fans that she had received a flood of messages about the supposed auction.
Rather than address the matter directly, she joked that since people were thirsty for “tea,” she would instead show them how to make flavored tea.
“If there is one thing I do and respect is my online fans because I have been able to create this social media family for a long time. I have been seeing this evening on my posts and DMs of people asking me for ‘tea’, and guess what, we are going to make one,” she said, before launching into a mock recipe.
