Followers of the Repentance and Holiness Ministry were left in shock after Prophet David Owuor’s official Facebook page was hacked, sparking a flurry of reactions online.

Screenshots widely shared on social media showed concerned netizens warning members of the church to be cautious of any new posts from the account, which enjoys over 178,000 followers.

TNX Africa confirmed that the page had been compromised, noting that its profile photo was recently updated to an image unrelated to the ministry.

The new avatar features a scene from Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), an action film set in a dystopian wasteland.

The still depicts a man in rugged, armored gear riding a skull-adorned motorcycle with a woman in minimal clothing and a mechanical arm seated behind him, while massive armored trucks explode in the desert background.

The cinematic image stood in stark contrast to the preacher, who is widely recognized for his white robes, public healing crusades, and calls to holiness.

In the comment section, loyal followers rallied behind Owuor, denouncing the incident as the work of “evil spirits.” One supporter wrote, “Why fear the wind when the roots are deeper?” Another added, “On a day of reception from a mighty mission, the devil is also working this hard.”

Prophet Dr. David Edward Owuor is a prominent Kenyan religious leader and founder of the Repentance and Holiness Ministry.

A former scientist with a PhD in Molecular Genetics, he says he received a divine calling in 2003 and refers to himself as “the Mightiest Prophet of Jehovah.”

His ministry emphasizes repentance and holiness, often issuing stern warnings against corruption, immorality, and the prosperity gospel.

He has also made prophecies about global disasters, which he frames as divine judgment.

Owuor’s public ministry is marked by grand rallies, healing services, and devoted followers, some of whom have been seen cleaning roads ahead of his motorcades.

While he maintains he does not collect offerings or tithes, critics have frequently pointed to his opulent lifestyle and use of state-like security escorts as sources of controversy.

Authorities have yet to issue a statement regarding the breach of his social media account.
