Cape Verdean-Dutch singer-songwriter Lyzaira is stepping into a bold new era with the release of her highly anticipated EP, “Ain’t Nobody Like Me”, which is set to be released on 31 October 2025.

Recorded and written in Kenya, the five-track project captures confidence, freedom and cultural fusion blending Cape Verdean soul, Dutch flair and East African rhythm into one vibrant sound.

The EP, produced by acclaimed Kenyan hitmaker Wuod Omollo and co-written by Onyach Pala and Ywaya Tajiri of Watendawili, was born from Lyzaira’s creative residency in Nairobi earlier this year.

The collaboration brings together artists from across Africa and the diaspora, bridging the sounds of Cape Verde, the Netherlands, and Kenya in a refreshing Afro-pop and R&B fusion.

Lyzaira says the project reflects her journey of rediscovery and empowerment. “This EP is about embracing who I am, my roots, my womanhood, and my freedom,” she said.

“It’s a love letter to every woman who’s learning to own her story.”

Her latest single, “Sawa Sawa”, released this week on Friday, 24th October, gives a glimpse of what to expect from the full EP. The Afro-pop anthem which mixes Swahili, Creole and English lyrics celebrates confidence and joy with a sun-soaked rhythm and breezy vocals.

The single’s music video, shot in Nairobi, captures that same infectious energy with a “Hot-Girl-Summer-meets-Afro-Soul” vibe.

From dance-floor grooves to smooth R&B tones, “Ain’t Nobody Like Me” celebrates love, independence, and the fun side of modern womanhood.

It’s a sound that speaks to women everywhere. It is vibrant, fearless, and full of life.

With her roots in Cape Verde, her base in Rotterdam, and her creative pulse in Africa, Lyzaira is fast emerging as part of the new wave of Afro-diasporic artists shaping the global pop scene. Her previous singles “Catch the Vibe,” “Sneaky Jam,” and “Vida Loca”  have already showcased her evolution from soulful beginnings to confident, dance-ready anthems.

As she prepares for the rollout of “Ain’t Nobody Like Me”, complete with music videos, live performances and press appearances across Kenya, she says this moment feels like homecoming.

“Africa is where my sound feels most alive,” she shares. “This EP is me saying — there really ain’t nobody like me.”
