Ugandan music community is in mourning following the tragic death of Olivia Mildred Namubiru, better known by her stage name Olisha M, who passed away while giving birth in Kampala.
The popular Afrobeat singer died on Friday, 24 October 2025, at Nsambya Hospital, where she was reportedly undergoing delivery. She was in her early thirties.
Olisha M was widely recognised across East Africa for her vibrant stage presence, soulful voice, and her ability to blend traditional Ugandan rhythms with modern Afrobeat influences.
Her chart-topping hits including Katambala, Gwenjagala, and Super Love earned her a loyal fan base and regular airplay across radio stations in the region.
Beyond music, Olisha had also ventured into fashion and acting, building a reputation for her bold style and expressive performances.
In 2024, she captured public attention with her lavish traditional introduction ceremony, where she formally introduced her fiancé Mutassim Nziorera to her family and fans. The couple shared two children together.
