Singer and entrepreneur Akothee has revealed that she is battling several serious health conditions, opening up to fans in an emotional Instagram post that has since sparked widespread empathy and support from fellow celebrities and followers.

In her candid post, Akothee disclosed that she was diagnosed with severe migraines, uterine fibroids, and a blood clot, whose exact location doctors have been unable to identify.

The singer shared that a previous attempt to treat the clot with blood thinners nearly cost her life after her body reacted adversely to the medication.

“Last time they gave me blood thinner medication, a drug that caused an adverse reaction. I lost consciousness for about three hours. The doctors said it was a case of over-sedation and my body reacted strongly,” she wrote.

The outspoken businesswoman admitted that her diagnosis forced her to rethink her understanding of strength and success.

“For a long time, I thought being strong meant pushing through pain, smiling through the storm, showing up no matter what. But now I’ve learned that true strength sometimes means stopping… breathing… and healing,” she said.

Akothee explained that she has since chosen peace over pressure, calm over chaos, and health over hustle.

“These conditions forced me to look at life differently. I can no longer shout, argue, or absorb unnecessary pressure. My peace is now my prescription. My calm is my survival.”

The post, which quickly went viral, struck a chord with many of her fans; including media personality Betty Kyallo, who dropped a heartfelt comment echoing Akothee’s sentiments about slowing down and prioritizing self-care.

“Aaaaw honey. Yes, it’s true that pace doesn’t have to always be fast, pace can be slow too. Take care of yourself,” Betty wrote. “I used to feel bad when I took days off to recharge, like I had to always be on the move to prove I was working. But I learned to put me first before any business or even relationships — it’s not a crime. Be well. Love you.”

In her post, Akothee also addressed women silently enduring pain, reminding them that healing is a form of becoming.

“To every woman silently battling pain behind her smile, I see you. We are not broken. We are becoming. This is my healing era.”

True to her signature humor, she lightened the heavy tone with a playful jab at critics:

“For the keyboard warriors, you can call me Fibroids, Migraines, Bloodclot Akoth Kokeyo. Or probably remind me it’s a journey to menopause. Then add menopause on top of it,” she joked.

Akothee ended her post with a raw reflection on life and death, urging fans to express love now rather than later.

“If any of these monsters win or my time comes, please bury me in 48 hours. If it finds me abroad, don’t struggle to bring my body back. My children have no energy to attend to guests. If you want to see me, enjoy me now that we can interact. Show me love now. There’s no genuine love shown to a dead body if it was never shown while they lived. Death is for the living, so is life.”
