‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ former child actor Floyd Roger Myers Jr. has died at the age of 42.
Myers succumbed to a fatal heart attack on Wednesday, October 29, at his home in Maryland, USA. His mother, Renee Trice, broke the sad news and told the outlet that the actor had suffered three heart attacks within three years before his demise.
She added that she had communicated with the 42-year-old on the previous night, TMZ reported.
Floyd Myers will be remembered for his incredible acting and hilarious role in the Sitcom Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He played a younger version of actor Will Smith as a child in an episode in 1992.
Since Will Smith was the main character of the sitcom, his role earned him recognition. He also starred in the miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream.
Myers played as a young Marlon Jackson as the ABC production entailed legendary superstar Michael Jackson and the musical Jackson Family’s story of success. Myers also appeared in an episode of the WB drama Young Americans back in 2000.
Aside from acting, the late actor had co-founded ‘The Fellaship Mens Group.’ This is a platform that focuses on establishing a powerful collective where men unite for wholeness, flourishing, and achieving their goals.
“RIP to our good brother @rocwonder, one of our co-founders. Gone but never will be forgotten. The mission will continue in your honour. Next men’s meeting will be one for the books, like we talked about! Love you, bro, rest easy, big bro will take it from here,” the Fellaship men’s group wrote.
The family of the actor started a GoFundMe page led by his younger sister, Tyree Trice. They urged fans and well-wishers to support Floyd’s family and help cover the funeral expenses.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of my beloved brother, Floyd Roger Myers Jr, who tragically left us today after a sudden heart attack. He was a devoted father, loving brother, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and warmth touched everyone he met.
This fundraiser was created to help relieve some of the financial burden that comes with this sudden tragedy. All funds raised will go toward funeral expenses, supporting his children, and helping us navigate this difficult time as we grieve and adjust,” she wrote.
Floyd Roger Myers leaves behind four children, namely Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox. His mother, Renee Trice, posted a picture of him and his family and wrote, “This (is) not supposed to be so.”
People on social media wished their family strength during this difficult time and expressed their condolences. Daniel Vareha on Facebook wrote, “Praying for you. Renee Trice. gone too soon.” Another, Charmee added, “I’m so sorry to hear of this. My condolences and prayers are with you all.”
