Kenya’s Benson Kipruto just held off compatriot Alexander Mutiso to win a photo-finish in the men’s race at the New York Marathon on Sunday.
A thrilling duel in perfect conditions saw Mutiso almost catch Kipruto with a late burst in the final metres of what was the closest finish in New York Marathon history.
Kipruto crossed the line in a time of two hours eight minutes and nine seconds, with Mutiso 0.16secs behind.
