Nollywood’s golden girl, Regina Daniels, has found herself at the centre of a storm that has rocked both Nigeria’s entertainment and political scenes.
In a series of emotional Instagram stories, the actress opened up about alleged marital woes with her billionaire husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, accusing him of manipulation, control, and mental torment.
She further claimed that he was behind the arrest of her family members, a move she said had pushed her to the brink of a breakdown.
According to Regina, her brother and sister were arrested, and her younger sibling was reportedly next if she refused to return to rehab—a demand she claimed came directly from the senator.
Visibly distraught, the actress lashed out in one of her now-viral posts, writing, “You said I’m a drug addict? Me? You want me to return to rehab? You’re pushing me to the edge!”
The outburst, raw and emotional, revealed a side of the actress rarely seen by the public. In another post, Regina lamented the “collapse of a once beautiful legacy”, saying she never imagined their union would spiral into what she described as “a war.”
“I tried to stay mute… My sons and family are my biggest challenge, but I will overcome,” she added, hinting at years of silent suffering beneath the glitz of her public image.
The saga deepened when her mother, Rita Daniels, entered the fray. In a Facebook post shared by media personality Maria Ude Nwachi, Rita accused the senator of ingratitude, claiming both she and her daughter had stood by him emotionally and financially throughout his political journey.
She alleged that Regina had donated $50,000 to support Nwoko’s campaign, only for him to “turn around and persecute her family.”
As the drama unfolds, fans have been split down the middle — some rallying behind Regina, applauding her courage to speak out, while others urge restraint and privacy in what appears to be a deeply personal battle.
