Caetano Kenya has officially launched Chery in the local market, a leading global car brand from China with over 15 million units sold worldwide.
The automobile is known for successful products such as Arrizo and Tiggo, with its entry marking a transformative moment for Kenya’s SUV and the new car market, which has experienced a strong performance this year thanks to affordable credit and resilience in key sectors of the economy.
Chery, which incorporates intelligent technology, is expected to redefine what Kenyan drivers expect from modern mobility.
According to the dealer, the debut lineup—the Tiggo 4 Pro, Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro Max—brings together cutting-edge engineering and refined craftsmanship and will deliver a premium driving experience at an attainable price point.
Designed for Kenya’s modern, ambitious drivers, Chery’s range offers a perfect blend of style, performance, and smart innovation, management said, setting a new benchmark for accessible luxury in the SUV segment.
“Chery’s arrival in Kenya underscores Caetano Kenya’s commitment to delivering world-class mobility solutions that meet the evolving needs of today’s discerning customers. The introduction of Chery brings to the Kenyan market a brand that combines intelligent engineering, contemporary design and advanced safety,” Caetano Kenya management said.

“Our partnership with Chery goes beyond introducing a globally successful automotive brand to our market; it represents a bold commitment to Kenya’s industrial future,” Caetano Kenya managing director, Aurélien Glay, said.
The company plans to start local assembly of Chery vehicles in Kenya next year, a move that is aimed at creating jobs, skills transfer and accelerating industrial growth, while creating local value.
“Built in Kenya, for Kenya, this is not just our strategy, it is our promise,” Glay said.
The Tiggo 8 Pro Max is the flagship SUV, a 7-seater SUV for executives and families, Tiggo 7 Pro is a 5-seater SUV balancing performance and elegance, with intelligent drive features, while Tiggo 4 Pro, is a compact, urban SUV built for dynamic city lifestyle, offering smart connectivity, efficiency, and a premium experience at an entry-level price point.
The pricing strategy will be highly competitive in the SUV segment, designed to make premium SUV ownership more attainable.
The price will start from Sh3.9 million going up.
All models are backed by a seven-year-200,000 km warranty, one of the most comprehensive in the market, supported by Caetano Kenya’s extensive after-sales network, trained technicians, genuine parts availability and a dedicated customer service support.
Chery has a presence in over 80 countries and is China’s leading passenger vehicle exporter for 21 consecutive years.
The launch of Chery expands Caetano Kenya’s growing portfolio and strengthens its position as a true multi-brand mobility leader; it also brings new energy to the SUV segment—one of the fastest-growing in the market.
Caetano Kenya aims to sell 200–400 units in the first 12 months, a realistic yet ambitious target that reflects both the strength of the Chery lineup and the growing appetite for modern SUVs in Kenya.
It is part of the Salvador Caetano Group, which operates in 41 countries, employs more than 7,000 people, and generates an annual revenue of 2.5 billion euros (Sh 372.1 billion).
In Kenya, Caetano is a leading automotive distributor, with a portfolio that includes Hyundai, Kia, Renault, Ford, JMC and now Chery.
