Rapper Lil Maina has partnered with Kenyan food platform KULA to launch a co-branded pizza inspired by his Sumbua Stunna movement. The collaboration marks a shift from traditional celebrity endorsements to artist-driven co-creation.
Speaking at the launch, Lil Maina said the pizza reflects the energy and vibe of the Sumbua Stunna era.
“We wanted something that tastes like energy, like a vibe with spice. That is the Sumbua spirit in real life,” he said.
He added that Kenyan Gen Z prefers participation over passive endorsements.
Tiri Murai, KULA’s Brand Strategist, said Lil Maina was involved in the creation process, from choosing toppings to flavour combinations.
“Every choice reflects his aesthetic. That’s not marketing, that’s artistry extending into a new medium,” she said, noting that the partnership highlights a broader cultural shift.
“Artists are becoming curators of experiences, and brands are moving from sponsorship to co-creation,” she added.
The KULA x Lil Maina pizza will be available across Nairobi through major delivery platforms.
