Popular TikTok content creator Faustine Baba Talisha has finally traced his stolen iPhone 15 and Samsung S24 to Kampala, Uganda, days after they were snatched during the Mataha Festival along Kiambu Road.
The social media star shared his distress on Instagram after realising both phones were missing, revealing that his anguish stemmed less from the financial loss and more from the invaluable content stored on the devices.
After offering a hefty reward for any leads, Baba Talisha later provided an update on the unusual journey of his iPhone, which travelled from Nairobi to Ngong, then Kisumu, and eventually along Jinja-Kampala Road in Mukono, Uganda, just four days after the theft.
“So on Monday, my iPhone sent me an email on my MacBook that my lost iPhone was somewhere in Ngong town. Actually it was there for quite sometime. For about 6-7hrs. Later my account was signed out , and yes it could show the location but it wouldn’t be sending me any live feedbacks while on the move,” he wrote in a post.
Frustrated, he informed some acquaintances who promised help but offered no immediate action.
It wasn’t until late at night that he checked again. To his dismay, the phone was in transit, passing through Ahero on its way to Kisumu—and likely Uganda.
“I went back home late in the night, around 11, and when I checked, I realised the phone was on transit heading towards Kisumu, it was somewhere around Ahero. I immediately knew where it was being taken to Uganda,” he wrote.
Calls to authorities went unanswered, despite him providing precise coordinates before the phone disappeared from Ngong Town.
He also shared WhatsApp chats with another victim of a similar theft and posted CCTV footage showing the suspect.
